It's a pretty adorable kids book. HPL helps Cthulhu get back to sleep, showing him that the shadows and monsters under his bed are nothing to be afraid of.
It's a slim 23 pages. While the story is as simplistic as every kid's book ever, the artwork is fantastic. It's a fun kid's book but not as good as C is for Cthulhu. Due to a previous Kickstarter that I took place in I was given an opportunity to download this digital copy for free while another Kickstarter is trying to bring out a learning book for younger Cthulthu fans.
And having already reading another book by this author I was quite intrigued to see what a good night story may look like. Unfortunately it is kind of a flat story since basically as HP is preparing himself for book he gets interrupted with an eye peeking in as this particular Old One can't sleep. In a classic tale of when our own little ones are scared and seeing monsters everywhere HP Lovecraft is required to soothe his own creation before getting him to go back to bed. Unfortunately the fact that a cosmic entity would be scared of the dark and other monsters seems a bit too much for me even when he is thought to be a much young creature than in the stories of his universe.
What really is the redeeming grace for this book at least to me is the illustrations. They carry enough darkness that is off-balanced by the cartoonish looking characters to give it the right mood for the genre. At the same time and although I know I haven't really read Lovecraft the book does captures details such as some of the photos over HP's bed are other characters from his works such as possibly a black cat, which may be from The Cats of Ulthar. All in all it wasn't much of a bedtime story for me and I can see the grown reader reading it to little ones to show them that there aren't such things as monsters except those in the mind when such thoughts fill their heads.

You don't have to be a Lovecraft Lore Lover to love this book. Note: This eBook was given to me by the authors Nice bedtime book for kids, with a Lovecraftian theme. Written and illustrated by the same people who did "C is for Cthulhu".
This time, a story is told through its pages. Poor Cthulhu has trouble sleeping, and good old Howard is going to help him.
Many Mythos and Lovecraftian references, and the Illustrations are, again, gorgeous. It works as a book for kids, probably even better than the previous one. Mar 16, Christa rated it it was amazing. Such a cute story! Cthulhu seems scary but is scared of so many things just like a child. Howard Lovecraft isn't scared of him at all and helps him to get over his fears. Great read to show that looks and our minds can be deceiving.
